A fost in top 10 in mai toata lumea inca din prima zi de lansare fiind pe locul 9 in USA si pe locul 2 in UK.
Aflat in Franta,David avea sa inceapa o colaborare cu Tina Turner sub contractul celor de la EMI,dupa o convorbire telefonica cu aceasta a compus "Is this love",evident cu gandul la iubita sa din acea vreme,Tawny Kitaen,care,trebui esa recunoastem era o femeie foarte frumoasa pe atunci si cu care David Coverdale a format unul dintre cele mai frumoase si longevive cupluri din lumea amoroasa a rock'ului.Si daca de pe urma acestor idile noi,fanii ramanem cu asemenea capodopere nu pot spune decat "La mai mare" si de ce nu "Casa de piatra".

Probabil nu exista persoana (trecuta de 25 de ani)care sa nu fi auzit macar odata "The final countdown",genul acela de melodie care iti acapareaza simturile si creierul dar habar n-ai cine o canta.
Este probabil una dintre cele mai mari dovezi ca in muzica adevarata nu conteaza numele ci melodia,o poti asculta la nesfarsit,iti place,o asculti si fredonezi dar nu stii artistul/trupa ce o interpreteaza.Odata ce ai aflat geniul ce a creeat-o esti deja "fan".
Bine,nu vorbim de single;ul lor nr. 1 all time ci de una dintre cele mai cunoscute balade si melodii ale lor,"Carrie".
Extrasa de pe cel mai bun album al lor,The final countdown este si cel mai mare succes al trupei,surprinzator este singura melodie a lor care a stat pe locul 3 in Billboard 100 jumatate de an(1987).
Aceasta a fost scrisa de Tempest si Michaeli si a "furat" succesul melodiei de pe albumul cu aceelasi nume la momentul lansarii,"The final countdown" devenind "epica" dupa mai multi ani de la lansare.
Pentru mine ramane una dintre cele mai bune,trecand peste cea considerata ca fiind "numarul 1" doar pentru faima obtinuta dupa reclama excesiva.Alaturi de "Rock the night","Carrie" ramane in sufletul meu ca una dintre cele mai frumoase balade rock.

O noua rubrica(deja le-am pierdut numarul)in care,pe langa "Your heart needs" ne vom lasa purtati de dragostea cea eterna si pura('ai pe dracu')cu putin ajutor din partea celor mai bune/patrunzatoare/al naibii de reusite/hard balade/cantece de dragoste si orice alta bucata auditiva ce va ridica parul pe mana si cele mai frumoase sau rele amintiri(genul acela de capodopera classica hard ce apartine unuia dintre acele stiluri de la care nu te-ai astepta sa faca balade care sa va unga pe sufletel).
Nu stiam nimic de aceasta trupa pana acum mai bine de 3 luni,primul cantec pe care l-am auzit fiind "Metal Church",mi-a placut al naibii de mult si avand in vedere ca am inceput o noua rubrica(nimic socant:)))am vrut sa incep cu ceva ce,probabil nu multa lume din cei ce citesc tot ce aberez eu au auzit sau ascultat vreodata(sa speram ca va arat ceva nou).
O melodie absolut superba,bassul e demetial,solo'ul de chitara e dumnezeiesc,vocea te curpinde si versurile mi-au sculat paru' pe mana.
Cum pe Google,Wiki sau orice alt motor de cautare nu am gasit nimic despre aceasta capodopera,se pare necunoscuta de multi(nici nu ma mira chestia asta).
Nu stiu eu prea multe despre aceasta,ma rog,este extrasa de pe albumul Metal Church,albumul de debut al trupei si cel mai bun si pot spune doar ca este superba.Punct!
Este o balade heavy metal classic,e un classic,da' e genu' ala de classic care de la prima ascultare te face sa nu mai poti de furnicaturi din toate colturile.
Va las versurile,melodia si va urez auditie si de ce nu cantare placuta.

Bai,frate si cand ma gandesc ca o droaie de cretini nu au folosit prezervative si au clscit niste specimene mai mult decat tampite care spun ca muzica rock este sunet.Doar niste sunete fara pic de suflet,noima,inteles sau linie melodica.Ei nu ca m-am enervat si daca va zic ca era sa tarasc juma' de Bacau cu o platinata ieftina si plasticata care tinea neaparat sa imi scoata borsu' pe nas nu ma credeti:)).Da,ma rog...eliminam curvele care fac umbra pamanatului doar cu fundul din discutie si revenim la subiect.Prima melodie rock pe care am ascultat-o fiind Guns N'Roses-Welcome to the jungle(m-am indragostit pe loc de ea)da mi-am zis ca nu is nebuniile alea pline de meloncalism pe care le asculta mama in masina...era prea...dirty:))Si avand in vedere ca dupa mintea mea de copil sub dezvoltat balada era aia cu gandacelu' din pumnu' killer'ului nemilos.Ma rog...cand am descoperit ca baladele sunt acele chestii care te ung pe sufletel in momentele ale' mai nevrozate din viata ta cum te unge mierea pe gatul iritat la guturai.Oricum,nu mare mi-a fost surpirnderea sa vad ca baladele fac o mAAAre parte din muzica rock,care nu,nu sunt sunete inutile care iti zgarie timpanele si pe care poti doar sa dai din cap.Voi stiti ce sunt baladele si stiti ca constituie o mare parte,cea mai mult decat mirifica a rock'uluin si acum as vrea sa va prezint o lista cu 175 de balade,un fel de colectie pe care am facut-o de'a lungul acestor 9 luni de rock intens.Da,e lista,sa fie clar:))Nu e top,nu pot alege una cea mai buna pentru ca difera subiecte diferite,tot felu' de teme si stiluri.Acum,ca de fiecare apelez la memoria voastra de a-mi aminti o parte buuuna de balade cre voua va plac si va ung pe sufletelu' ranit pe care eu nu le-am trecut aici.
